Blog stuff

A few people have asked me if they could share this blog with someone, so I thought I would just let you all know, YES!!! In fact, please do! I really do want this blog to get out to more people, not just the ones I know, but of course, I love all you guys.
Now I realize that school has started back up, a lot of you guys are really busy with that and don't have much free time to just sit down and read these long posts. I would love it if you guys could let me know when you feel the best time for me to post is. After all, I made this blog so that people could get away from busyness, not to add this as another thing on their crazy schedule. One, two, or three times a week? Just let me know.

Jesus is Better

Hey all! I apologize that I haven't been posting much lately. Life has gotten in the way, and last week was pretty hard for me. I wanted to share something that I was shown at church. It was really encouraging to me, especially after that hard week, so I hope that it will also be encouraging to you.

Sometimes we are going to have hard weeks, but to get through it, we have to remember that Jesus knows what He's doing. We have to TRUST.

When you cannot sleep...

Just a quick reminder: "When you cannot sleep at night, have you ever thought maybe it's God saying 'We need to talk and now you have time.?'" (-Unknown)
The next time you are restless and are having trouble sleeping, just close your eyes, and talk to God. He won't ignore you. I find it relaxing, and it helps me to fall asleep, plus I get a good talk in with God.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!!! 🎈🎂

It's his golden birthday! He's turning 20 on January 20, 2020! That's pretty incredible, but then again, he is pretty incredible. Today is the birthday of my youngest older brother. I'm having a bit of a tough time describing him. I mean where do I start!?
My brother always knows what to say. When I'm having a bad day or I'm struggling with something and I talk to him about it, he listens, understands, and somehow worms the right thing to do into my head without flat out disagreeing with me or lecturing me. He is so loving when he knows he's right about something. And he's ALWAYS RIGHT! Well not always, but he's never wrong.

A way to say THANK YOU

As Christians, we know that going to heaven is not a result of the good deeds you do, but that you believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ. The good things we do are not because we are trying to work our way to heaven. So why do we do good things? It should be because it is a way to say THANK YOU to the Lord for all that he has done. "Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God." (-Unknown)
Often times, I start thinking that I have to be a good person and do good deeds or else God is going to be angry at me, and I won't be pleasing to Him. Of course, we should want to please Him and should please Him, but it's not that we have to please Him.

Take your problems to the Lord

"If you don't heal what hurt you, you'll bleed on people who didn't cut you." (-Unknown)
I think we can all agree that we have bad days. But why do we have bad days? Obviously something happened earlier, in which case you probably haven't gotten over it yet. It's understandable that some things take time to get over, I know that I take an annoying amount of time to get over some things, but that doesn't mean that I have to be mean to others. Just make sure you're not the cause of their bad day. Does this mean that you can still sulk and be rude to the particular person who caused you to be angry? Well, no. God tells us many times, "Do not repay evil for evil." Romans 12:17. "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you..." Luke 6:27.

Every Little Thing

Hello everyone! I wanted to share another song with you guys. I love it because it reminds us that God is in control. Though our plan seems better in the present, it cannot compare to the wonderful things God has in store for us in the future. If you would rather just read the lyrics, that is okay too, because the style of the song is a little weird.

I hope it is an encouragement to you all!

It's not our plan

"The greatest test of faith is when you don't get what you want, but still you are able to say thank you Lord." (-Unknown)
This has been difficult for me in the past. I think this is something we all struggle with. You may not get what you wanted, but you still have what you started with: Jesus. That is all we really need, so getting frustrated with something we don't need is useless. If God wants it to happen, it will happen.
I love this quote, because it reminds me of what I so often forget: that I have everything I need, and God has given me impossibly more! How can I say to God that He hasn't done enough for me when everything He's done is for me?

God is that friend

Something that has been on my mind a lot lately, is prayer. I was watching a show the other day, and something a character said caught my attention. It was something you hear almost everyday, so it was odd that it was then that I started actually thinking about it. To be honest, I can't remember the exact words the person said, but it was something like, "All you can do is pray." and my mom said something like, "That's not the only thing. Prayer is so powerful!" That's so true. Prayer shouldn't just be, "Oh, that's the only thing we can do." It should be, "Prayer is the only thing we have to do."
Imagine that you have a friend who can control death and life. You have a son who is dying. All you have to do is ask your friend to save him.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I pray that hope this new year brings you mountains of blessings! "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.'" Jeremiah 29:11
