Leave your worries with God

Some of us pray a lot, but with prayer we also have to have faith.
"Prayer is bringing your wishes and worries to God; faith is leaving them there." (-Unknown)
You can't really pray without trusting God to take care of your prayers. He will, but you can't try to do everything yourself when you've already asked God to. Do you ever notice yourself praying about something and then remaining worried about it? If you've asked God to take care of something, he will in his own timing. The timing that he thinks best. The timing that IS best, because everything about God is better.

Sometimes we have to be "broken"

I just wanted to share this cool story I found:
I was in the Dollar Tree last night and there was a lady and two kids behind me in the LONG line. One was a big kid, one was a toddler. The bigger one had a pack of glowsticks and the baby was screaming for them so the Mom opened the pack and gave him one, which stopped his tears. He walked around with it smiling, but then the bigger boy took it and the baby started screaming again. Just as the Mom was about to fuss at the older child, he bent the glowstick and handed it back to the baby.

Those lame excuses

Hey guys! Just a quick reminder that you should "Be stronger than your strongest excuse." (-Unknown)
Everyone struggles with this, but you just have to remember that what you are doing should be for the Lord. If you are making up excuses so that you don't have to do something you don't want to do, remind yourself of what God did for you. Did he make up excuses when he decided to send his son down to be punished for the sins he didn't commit? No. Did he want to do it? No. And did he still do it? Yes. Just because we don't want to do something, doesn't mean we shouldn't.

Just do it

You know those people who are always like, "Yeah I'll do that later." or "I'll figure that out tomorrow." and then do they? Okay, depends what it is, because we're not talking about taking the trash out or even cleaning your room. No, but what do you need to change in YOU? Is there something that you know about yourself that you don't like and other people don't like and God doesn't like and you know you can change it, but you aren't because... why?
"We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are." -Max Depree
What!? I can't change by staying the same? Yup, it's true.

You'll Never be Alone

I thought I would share a song with you guys. It's pretty popular, so you may have already heard it before, but I love the reminder of how God is always with us. Not only is it a rocking song, but it also shows us that God, no matter what we think, never leaves our side.

Also, Happy Valentines Day, not only to the couples, but especially to those rocking singles! You're never alone guys. We're all in this together.

Buried. Planted. Bloom.

"When you're in a dark place, you sometimes tend to think you've been buried. Perhaps you've been planted.

Bloom." (-Unknown)

Haven't you ever been in a dark place? If you haven't, you will. And if you have, what happened? You probably hated your life and prayed to God that it would be over. Prayed that it would all just be taken away and you would be happy again. Happiness.

That "one verse"

Hey! So you know those people who always seemed to have "that one verse" or that "one chapter" of the Bible that really just "spoke" to them? Like, it was their favorite one, or the one that kept them going throughout their lives? Yeah, me too. I always looked at them and wished I had one too. I don't know why, but I did. A while ago for school, I actually had to find my favorite Bible verse, and I searched for probably over two hours trying to find one... but I didn't. And then yesterday, I was doing my morning Bible reading, and I found it! It's actually almost an entire chapter, but I thought I would share it with you all, because I was really encouraged by it, and hopefully it will be encouraging to you too.

Lamentations 3:22-23

How long have you held a grudge? Days? Months? Some people have even held them for years. That's how we can see the difference between God and humans. God never holds grudges.
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning." -Lamentations 3:22-23
God starts fresh every morning, our sins completely forgotten to Him. No matter how terrible our sins, when we repent, the Lord forgives us. Then tomorrow, just as it is a new day, the Lord also considers it new mercies. He forgives us even after all we have done.

James 1:27

"...refuse to let the world corrupt you." -James 1:27
Often times, without realizing it, the people around you and the characters you see can easily "corrupt" you. You may find yourself acting in the ways they do, and not always for the better. But of course, there are many people who can encourage you to be a better person! Those are the people you will want to be around.
Just be careful who you're spending most of your time with. I was reading a book a while ago, and one of the stories the author told was of him when he was a lot younger. If I'm remembering right, he joined a baseball team, and without realizing it, he was becoming more and more like them.

Selfie Mode

To a world addicted to selfies - Nate and Sutton

I found this video a bit ago and thought I would share it with you all! It's really cool because it reminds us to stop looking at ourselves and put our focus on God! I think we all need those reminders now and again. I know I do.
Anyway, apologies that I haven't been posting as much! I hope to be posting more again soon.

The first hero

Hey friends! I found something super cool, and I wanted to share it with you guys. It said, The Gospel is the only story where the hero dies for the villain. It's kind of an interesting way to think of the gospel, and it's so true! No matter what you or anyone else may think, Jesus really was the hero. IS the hero. But what's a hero without those helpless little civilians who need saving and a wicked villain?
All those hero's that you read about in books, comic books, and see in movies, they actually wouldn't be hero's if it wasn't for God who set the first example. Just like there had to have been a first man in the world, there also had to have been a first hero.
