You are until you aren't

Hello all! I hope everyone's Thursday was filled with Thanksgiving! You know, this week has been so much fun. With family and friends and an amazing break from all the busy things, regular life seems so... annoying. I think we all have times where we wish that regular life could always be like those rare holiday breaks, but why can't it be so? Of course we can't forget about school or work or all the other busy, important things in life, but we can remember all of those moments that we usually take for granted. Breaks are important when having a life full of running and running, and I think a lot of us forget that we can have a moment between that busy life to enjoy something.

Let Him take over

Just a quick reminder: "The most difficult time in your life may be the border to your promised land." -Christine Caine
God's got your life in control. Much before you lived, God knew you. He had a plan for you. Never underestimate Him. Just because your having a bad day doesn't mean He isn't watching and waiting for you to let Him take over.

Crazy beautiful you

I wanted to share a song with you guys! The words really stuck out to me, because they are so true! A lot of times, we feel like who we truly are is not enough... well God says your wrong, and He's ALWAYS right. I hope you will feel encouraged through this song, and you'll really put these thoughts into your life.
This may sound like a song talking mostly to the girls, but if you just look at the words, I think anyone can relate to them!

Remember God!

Hello all! With Thanksgiving coming up I feel like everything is just about to get crazy busy. This next week, as we are preparing for two thanksgivings, I will probably not be posting as much as I have been. And when I do, it will be small posts. :) A little bit of advice though: as we are becoming busy with family and friends and different activities during Thanksgiving, don't forget to give thanks.
I know this sounds a little weird, but it's true. Thanksgiving should be a day full of remembering all of the blessings God has given us! It's not about getting the turkey in the oven in time, or making sure your guests don't see a wrecked house. It's not even about you or your guests having a good time! Of course, you want everyone to be happy including yourself, which could also mean you need to have the turkey ready in time, and your house shouldn't be a mess, but ultimately, these things are just unnecessary.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!!! 🎈🎂

If you guys have not already guessed, today is my one and only, incredible sis's 17th birthday! You gave me this idea, and I'm super excited to carry it out!
Sis, you are the first one I come to when I need, but can't tell a secret to. It's impossible to keep something from you, so... I don't. You always listen to what I have to say, and laugh when it's funny... and it usually is. We usually share the same sense of humor! 😂 I LOVE hanging with you when you are reading or sewing in your room, even though I don't do anything but annoy you as younger sisters do. But you almost never tell me to go away. In fact, most of the time, you are the one to ask me to come hang with you! I hope you know how special that makes me feel. And it's sooo easy to talk to you! When on walks, it's like I don't have enough time to say everything!

A broken puzzle

"The way to heal a broken heart is to give God all the pieces." (-Unknown)
This is a wonderful quote not only because it's true, but because it's so easy to relate to your life! Haven't we all felt like we were barely managing a broken heart at least once in our life? The Lord made a puzzle. Every time we do something He commands, we put together another piece. But not on our own. No, never! God will give us so many clues, it's actually impossible to miss a piece. But every time we stumble, every time we ignore his commands, or try to do it on our own, we will put in the wrong piece, and the puzzle will break. It will become all bended up, and we won't be able to do any more. That's when we remember the Lord. Although only God knows our personal path, God has shown us the way! He has given us all the answers!

Revelation 3:8

"God will open new doors." Revelation 3:8
Just because some doors are closing doesn't mean new ones won't open. All we have to do is trust God, and He will show us the way. No need to become frustrated that things are changing. Personally, I really struggle with change, especially right now. Being the youngest child has some great advantages, but it also has it's disadvantages. Everyone around me seems to be growing up much too quickly, while I am still... here. But I just need to remember that God has His plans, and they are always better than mine. That makes the future so much more exciting!
Something I try to remember is when the "good old days" are over, new ones will come! Don't worry about change!

God's timing, not ours

I know I've been posting a lot of quotes, but they can really lift me up somedays and reassure me when I am feeling unwanted or alone, or angry at God for not being there for me (though of course, He is always there). Hopefully they lift you up as well. But we really need to remember that He is always here for us. He will rescue us in times of need. In all times, wherever you are, God is always with you, as long as you do not reject Him.
"I asked God to help me grow, and it started to rain." (-Unknown)
This is a reminder that when things seem disastrous like there's no way out, God is still there for us, and it is going to help us grow.

Not for you, but for God.

Sunday! I love Sundays... except that the next day is Monday. Did God speak to you today at church? Did you speak to Him?
"Don't say God has been silent when your Bible has been closed." (-Unknown)
Yeah, this has happened to me. Have you ever wondered why God hasn't been answering your prayers? If they were THAT important, surely He'd at least give us a sign that He's listening. You've got the wrong mind-set. Do you only call to Him when you are in need of His service? What about the times when He blesses you way beyond what you deserve? That's pretty much every second of every day... for all of us. Annnnd, we don't even thank Him for always being at our side. Instead we cast Him away, annoyed at His love for us. Okay. If you want Him gone, He'll leave. Be careful what you wish for, because a second after that, trouble will come.

YOU do YOU

"Jesus isn't looking for you to be like other Christians, He is looking for you to be like Him." (-Unknown) - also just wanted to let you know that most of these quotes are going to be unknown, so if I forget to put the "who-it-is-by" thing, then it's probably unknown. :)
Sometimes - maybe a lot of times - we compare ourselves to other Christians. Maybe they're better "qualified" to enter into the kingdom of heaven, maybe they sin less, maybe they have a closer relationship with God, maybe they have a better testimony, maybe they WHATEVER! None of these things matter to God. He doesn't compare people to each other by looking at their deeds. He looks at our hearts, and he doesn't compare them. God gave each of us a unique talent that can help draw others to Him just as well as anyone else.

"...beautiful"

Hey all!
Apparently I have a lot of motivation for posting things on my blog. I doubted I would even post once a week, and so far I have three posts in just a few days! It's probably because of all your guys' extremely kind words of encouragement. My love language is definitely words of affirmation and ya'll have given me so much of just that! Thank you so, so much! I am truly overwhelmed by your kindness!
I'd like to share one of my favorite quotes: "Lord, you placed the stars in the sky, yet you call me beautiful." (-Unknown)
How does this make you feel?

Lean on Me

For my "first" post, I wanted to share a song with you all. It's called Lean on Me by Group 1 Crew. I hope that while you are listening to this, you will know that you really can "Lean on Me". I'm here for all of you, even if I don't know you ;D Please share anything you want with me! I may not be able to help always, but I'll still be your friend. At times, it may seem like I'm not actually listening, and I don't actually care, but I do, and whatever emotion you feel, I'll feel too. Just know that there's at least one person out there who you can lean on for everything... and that's God! Anyway, I hope you like this song, and even if it's not really your style, I hope you like the words! You won't EVER have to feel alone, because God's got you even if I don't.

Why?

That's a good question.
My name is Jasmine, and I am a young Christian teen, still not completely sure why the Lord brought me into this world but am anxious to find out! No doubt it has something to do with Mark 16:15, as everyone's purpose is, though in different ways. But I am not here writing to you to help us find out. That is not the reason for this blog.
I Simply Says is an odd name, even I know that, not to mention the terrible grammar. But it does have a meaning, just like this blog. I had a lot of trouble figuring out what to name it, and you know what I have finally decided.
Have you ever felt completely alone or maybe angry and frustrated with God? Or your friends or family? I can't change your emotion, only God and yourself can do that. But I can talk to you with encouraging words - say a verse. Just a "simple" verse, or quote, can make you feel... loved; wanted.
In this blog, I am going to be sharing some of my favorite verses, and why they are, and favorite quotes, and why they are. Not only these things, but I want my blog to be a safe place. I want you to come onto here maybe only for the purpose of getting away from life - away from all the crazy stuff and just take a minute, maybe smile for a second at the things I post. Yes, I want you to smile at my posts... and laugh! So not only am I going to post verses and quotes, but also I might tell what's been happening in my life, maybe some struggles that I've been working through (and you guys can comment on how they can be helped :D), some struggles others are working through (even if it's completely random and I don't even know anyone with these struggles), and I might post about... anything!! I just really want my posts to relate with your life. So I'll be focusing manly on verses and quotes and struggles. Please feel free to comment about... things! I really would love some feedback. Though if you can't or don't want to, no worries! I'd like to see at least one comment per post, but I understand if there's none :D Please have a wonderful day guys and I will talk to you later! Hopefully I'll be posting at least once a week, but I'd like to get up to around three times a week (though I doubt I'll come close to that :P).
If you feel the need to contact me about anything, my email is lotr.num1fan@gmail.com. But just my email for now ;).
Also, PLEASE SHARE this! :D Stay safe ya'll!
