Could you still love God?

What does it mean to love God more than anything else? This is something that I have been considering for a while, something I feel like we should all know. A lot of people say that they love God more than anyone else - I've especially heard that at Christian weddings - so what does that really mean?
Imagine that your life is just full of goodness and happiness. You're a Christian who loves the Lord and your family loves the Lord too. You have everything you need and want and more, and you're super thankful to God, which makes you feel great! Of course everyone should be thankful to God, and you are, so that's awesome! Basically, life couldn't get better. And then... it really just... doesn't.
It gets worse. You're life becomes miserable. Everything you once had is gone. Your family and friends have died, your house, your money, all the things you used to be thankful for - you used to be blessed with - gone. Do you see that? Once you do, answer this: could you still say that you love God more than anyone else? Could you say right to him, "Lord, even though you took everything, I still love you more." Could you continue to be thankful? To consider yourself blessed?
Well I really pray that that doesn't happen to any of you, and I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen to yourself, but it could, and I hope you would be prepared to still be able to say that you love God more than anything - more than any of those wonderful things you lost. I pray that I am prepared as well!
I had thought of that as I was making my way through the book of Job as you might have already guessed. I really think this is an important thing to know, because if I can't still love God when/if that ever happens, then I really don't love him now.
