Another birthday! We celebrated it a few days ago, but that doesn't make this day any less special! Though another year has flown by, my dad didn't get a day older. What fun it is to have a dad who is and will always be young.
Do you remember when I had said that my brother is the second most patient person I know? Well my pops is THE most patient person I know. Because he thinks about what he is going to say before he speaks, I think I may have only heard him say "um" a couple times in my life. Even when talking on the phone!
You know how when you are leaving a voicemail, you can't help but say "um" at least twenty times? My dad says it basically... never. That's something I have still not figured out how to do.
Something I really appreciate about my dad, is that he knows what's going on. He's in my life. He knows my friends, my interests, the things I like and dislike. He could be like those dad's who are so busy with their own things, their own interests, but he's not. He wants to be busy with my things, and my sibling's things, and my mom's things. And yet through all this busyness, he still remains that calm, patient dad. Yep, I truly am blessed.
My dad is... so wise. He shows me different perspectives when I am frustrated about something. He has always encouraged me to be that person God wants me to be... because he loves God so much! And shows that in... practically everything he does. Oh my, I wish I could be more like him!
All I know is that I am extremely blessed to have the dad that I do. God knew me, and he knew I needed someone with as much patience, kindness, and wisdom as my dad has. And of course all those other awesome traits. I will forever remember the terrifying car crusher, scissor's lock, and steam roller! 😄 Looking forward to more fun!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I am thankful for a patient Father in heaven, who encourages me to be the same. Being patient with someone like you is pretty easy because you are such an wonderful person who is pursuing the same things in life as I do! I want to encourage you to be who you are meant to be and not throw my own impatience or roadblocks in your way. Love Dad.
