Psalm 49:16-17

Hi all! I recently read a verse the other day, and it kind of gave me a new perspective, so I thought I would share it with you!
"Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them." Psalm 49:16-17
This is actually pretty interesting if you think about it. Money is a huge thing in today's life, but honestly, it's kind of worthless. If you can't take it to heaven, what's so special about it? You cannot buy your way into heaven. People seem to only focus on making money so that they can buy some fancy car or house or clothes, but once they die and leave it all behind, it almost seems like a waste of a life. They could've been doing something useful.
Let me ask you this: what would you rather bring to heaven? Your friends and family, or your money? You can't bring your money to heaven, but if you could, would you really pick it over important people? You can tell your friends and family about the Lord, and if they choose Him, it'll be like you bringing them to heaven!
Keep in mind that doing what the Lord asks is much more rewarding than money. And if he asks you to become wealthy, that's great!
