Sunday! I love Sundays... except that the next day is Monday. Did God speak to you today at church? Did you speak to Him?
"Don't say God has been silent when your Bible has been closed." (-Unknown)
Yeah, this has happened to me. Have you ever wondered why God hasn't been answering your prayers? If they were THAT important, surely He'd at least give us a sign that He's listening. You've got the wrong mind-set. Do you only call to Him when you are in need of His service? What about the times when He blesses you way beyond what you deserve? That's pretty much every second of every day... for all of us. Annnnd, we don't even thank Him for always being at our side. Instead we cast Him away, annoyed at His love for us. Okay. If you want Him gone, He'll leave. Be careful what you wish for, because a second after that, trouble will come.
Then you'll go calling out to God for help. So just after you pushed Him away, your now asking for Him to come back and save you? That's not exactly fair. In fact it's not fair at all.

We love God, because He first loved us. We shouldn't expect Him to always come to us, especially after we've ignored Him. Of course, we're all sinners, so we'll make mistakes and the Lord will forgive us and remain at our side. But this quote is meant for those who continuously push away God, or maybe keep making up excuses for not reading the Bible, or worshipping God. Even if you are not feeling up to it, I encourage you to read your Bible. Talk to God. Maybe just throw out some words to praise Him. The truth is, the worship, songs, sermons - they're not for you. They're for God.

It is all too easy to put reading God's Word to the end of your things to do list. What a good reminder to seek Him first.
